Today: BBQ and My Friend みなと (Minato)

Today was another hot and sunny day! I was lucky as some friends invited me to a BBQ. They belongs to the "Brass Porteno" a Brass Band of Kobe. They gather together lately to prepare for their performance in Osaka in May and Other Performances they will do in Kobe City.

When I was told about the BBQ i was more than happy to join! I have been seeing people barbecuing all the time and wished to taste their delicious food... and today i had the chance!

I don't know if it's a custom in japan, but i think they had a good idea: One of them bought the meat and what was necessary and at the end we shared the cost...

This is my little friend Minato-chan. As you can see, he is enjoying some "Ring-Chips". He was very nice, he even offered me one from his fingers ;)...

The real purpose of the gathering was to build some props for the upcoming performance, so everyone was at work ... (except for Minato that was enjoying an Ice Cream Puff... and me with the excuse of taking pictures ;)

Later, even Minato-chan, helped as he could!

Minato-chan is 7 years old. He told me he will become soon 8 years old. Some time ago, he had an accident with his bycicle and fell down. His parents, took him to the hospital to check him out, i guess they took a Magnetic Resonance of his head. The Head was not injured by the fall, but the doctor found something else... they found a tumor.

The poor Minato-chan had to go under two surgeries to remove the cancer. In addition, the upcoming sommer, he will start radio teraphy. He is a nice boy, full of life. I wish him all the best. In a certain way, it was good he fell from the bycicle, otherwise they might not ever find out.. Minato-chan, Ganbatteneee! (Minato, keep it up!)
