Here it's me, in front of a new Ship, the M/V African Kingfisher that was ready for her first Sailing on June 6th. I've never seen an event like this, so...here we go!The boat was really big...long about 200 meters and about 32 meters tall and 18 meters wide. An engine of 8,200kW x 110rpm. Made by Kawasaki. The "Launch" was scheduled for 11.00 AM. I was there already at 9.30. By 11.00 AM when they started the speech, i guess some 1500 people were present. Few music pieces played by the Firefighters Brass band and a few words of Farewell, at 11:10 the champagne bottle kissed good luck...
After exactly 15 minutes, the ship was sent to Sea...
"Have a Safe trip! King-Fisher-San!"
