Not a Racing Kart...but still useful...

Some asian fellows will wonder what this picture is doing here ;) ...but actually, in switzerland we have never seen (as i remember) "Japanese Style" Toilets, or as they are called in italy "Turk Style".

In Italy you can still see them sometimes, although the shape is different and are disappearing.

This kind of toilets are very popular in japan. The interesting thing is that sometimes they have a couple of "Japanese Style" Toilets and, for tourists, a "Western Style" or Classical one in the same restroom.

Hearing from Native Japanese, what they think of it, it seems they like it quite a lot... but when i've asked them if it's comfortable to read Magazines or Newspapers on that position, they looked puzzled...

As for myself, i still didn't figure out well how to use them, i still find them umconfortable ... i will research further on this and eventually report back as soon as i find a User's Guide... ;)

Today's Breakfast: Jelly and Margarine in a Pocket!

Today i had nothing for breakfast, so just before going to school, i went to the first Lawson Store (Convenience Store) and looked for something.

I found this Pocket bread. It's like a toast pocket (two pockets in the package). In each pocket there is margarine and jelly. No idea how they put them inside...

Anyhow...the consistency was nice, but way too much margarine ... maybe they used margarine to prevent it from drying too much...no idea...

But it's convenient, if you don't want to bring your own butter, bread and jelly and have it ready made !

9F : The Ninth Floor

Some readers have expressed the doubt if i really study sometimes or i just go around looking for interesting pictures ;)

Actually, this is the 9th floor of the school. It's a study and recreational room. Usually i bring my Bento for lunch and from 1:30 PM to 5.00 PM i study here.

Believe it or not, all the pictures and articles on this blog, have come on its own. Just walking around and paying a little attention, there is always something to write about, down here ;)

This room looks a little dark, but is really a nice and quiet place to study...better than at home or at a coffee shop...

Let's hope all this study will yield result ;)

Secret? What Secret?...

Every now and then, I go looking in the drug store for interesting new products (not necessarily buy them, but is amazing what you can find ;)...

Today i found this one and i couldn't avoid taking a picture.

If you thought the name sounds crazy, well, is better you click on the picture and read the product description....

Back to The Future: Japanese Version !

Do you remember the movie "Back to the Future" ? In that movie, the story was about a lightening that struck on the city clock at a certain time and then the clock was never repaired. This is the Japanese version of that clock ...

Actually, is the sad reminder of the big earthquake i wrote time ago. Below the clock, the following is the writing that explains it...

Japan and the amazing 26 hours Clock !

This is a sign offering part time job, as you can notice, besides the low wage at 800 yen, is that the working time is from 9:30 to 25:30. Now, this is not common in japan to have a 26 hours clock ...but lets say it is probably a very creative way to say "1:30 AM"...

Buy your Menu, and get served at the table...

This is a view of a restaurant in Sannomiya. Nothing special about the settings that looks quite usual. What caught my attention here were a couple of things...

The first one, is that in japan, in some restaurants, you need to buy your menu first from the vending machine. It means, you choose your menu and buy a ticket that you will then pass to the waiter. The machine is a touchscreen with color pictures of the possible menus. But sometimes, old machines don't have a screen with the picture...so it is a little bit difficult to figure out where your button is - if you cannot read japanese ...

I believe they use this way, so that no money is handed to the employees. This kind of shops, offer part time job and i guess employees change quite frequently, therefore the manager probably prefers this kind of system....
